The Proposal

On Christmas morning around 1:00 am, Jennifer and I walked down the Columbus Riverwalk on the Chattahoochee river.  After a long conversation about how wonderful the past year has been for both of us, and how happy we both have been, we cozied up on a bench facing the river, trying to keep each other warm in the cold breeze.  I next told Jennifer that I had a surprise waiting for her, and asked her to close her eyes, which she did.  At that time, I pulled out my new Sony Clie NR70V (a handheld computer device) and started playing Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight".  Next, I showed her a series of pictures as a slide show. I have attached them below for your viewing pleasure.  Needless to say, by the end of the slideshow, Jen was pleasantly surprised, but still clueless.

Priceless (the slide show)

After the slide show, I gave Jennifer many hugs and kisses, and as I always do, expressed to her how intense my feelings for her are, and that I wish to spend the rest of my life with her.  I also asked her to marry me, which I have done many times before, and to which she has always replied yes, as she did this time.  Then, I told her that I was really serious... and she replied "I know, baby, I am serious too. Yes, of course."  Again, I expressed to her my seriousness in asking the question, only this time, I got down on one knee, and pulled out a wooden box containing the ring and opened it.  An hour and a half of crying, some dancing in the cold wind to music we made ourselves, and a whole lot of excitement later, we are now engaged.  I can't exactly remember her saying "yes", but I think she did.  We wanted to share our excitement with you.

Engagement party and invitations to the wedding will be forthcoming.
